CRAN release expected to take place prior to the end of 2023.

Pre-Release:

  • Code freeze
  • Check for and resolve any notes/warnings in R CMD check
  • Update README with CRAN installation instructions
  • Check that NEWS file contains all relevant changes
  • Check that necessary files are listed in .Rbuildignore

Release:

  • Create a pull request to make necessary bug fixes/changes (add "[skip vbump]" in the PR title), and tag the update(s) as a release candidate v0.1.1-rc1 on the main branch.
  • Submit package for validation.
  • Address any feedback, retag the package as a release candidate v0.1.1-rc(n+1). Repeat the submission.
  • Get the package validated.
  • Create a git tag with the final version set to 0.1.1 on the main branch.

Post-Release:

  • Review and update installation instructions for the package if needed.
  • Verify if a new dev version (0.1.1.9000) has been added to the NEWS file and DESCRIPTION file as a placeholder for release notes by automation.
