Inelegant error message when used with a single monitor on proprietary nvidia drivers

Not really a use case but still.
When used with the proprietary nvidia driver and one passes the monitor name rather than "desktop" there is an error due to "HEAD-1" not existing. The HEADS list could start at 0 but in my use case that was incorrect ordering.
