This is very interesting.

Would you have any pointers to documentation or resources, that would explain the principles involved here? It might help understand the code (though I will certainly look at it).

I'll refactor the code into more easily digestible pieces and comment it over the next week. It will surely help to understand the principles of raytracing inside it.

That would be great. I used to play with ray-tracing on the Amiga along time ago, and would love to know how it was actually working.
