Make PixelFed stories more discoverable

This mainly applies to the new ui as I was hard pressed to find a way to view them until I switched to the old ui. To be fair, the old way of viewing stories in the web ui using the classic ui would probably only be familiar to IG users. But that's a separate topic. Maybe I missed something (quite possible) but I couldn't spot a way to view stories under the new ui. I think in the past they would appear at the top and even then I don't know if that was only for people you follow...thoughts?
