IMO, it should open a folder if you select a folder.
And open a file if you select a file.

i thought about that when i first made it, but i decided against it because it is too easy to right-click on a file or folder and just select open in sublime text 2 from the context menu. for me this little applet was designed to scratch a very particular itch: a one-click way to load the folder whose contents i am looking at in the finder into the ST2 sidebar.

but other people agree with you about how it should work and some of them have forked this project and/or posted solutions that offer that functionality in the thread on the sublime text forum.
