fix names of some Chinese historical figures?

Opened this issue · 2 comments

While working on the index, I found Claude 3 Opus's comment interesting, so I decided to write it down as a note for future versions.

The names of some Chinese historical figures use Wade-Giles romanization instead of pinyin, e.g. Chiang Kai-shek, Chiang Ching-kuo, which is an older convention.

As a Japanese speaker, I am unable to assess its importance, so I would like to defer judgment to Mandarin speakers. There are plural option, such as rewrite it, make a decision not to rewrite it, use both or add footnotes.
