[Automated E2E Testing] Automate Tests

Objective

As part of #1482 we need to create steps for and automate the test scenarios that were identified as part of E2E testing discovery.

Goals

• Align test scenarios to steps that maintain the desired state

Deliverable

• Finalize scenarios and define steps between them
• Design the state based on the steps created between scenarios

Non-goals / Non-deliverables

• Adding more scenarios
• Preparing to handoff to QA

General issue deliverables

• Update the appropriate CHANGELOG
• Update any relevant READMEs (local and/or global)
• Update any relevant global documentation & references
• If applicable, update the source code tree explanation
• If applicable, add or update a state, sequence or flowchart diagram using mermaid
