Info

  • GSI version: any
  • Vendor version: any

Expected Behavior

Use apps normally, without security warnings etc

Current Behavior

Hi ponces. I noticed that a few apps, especially banking apps, refuse to work with test-keys releases. Using release-keys fixes all issues and I have tested this myself both on your GSI and others. Would it be possible for you to release the GSI not using test-keys? Thanks a lot!

Possible Solution

No response

Steps to Reproduce

  1. use test-keys: apps complain about security
  2. use release-keys: apps don't complain

Logs

No response

Additional context

No response

All my builds use release-keys...

Hi ponces, sorry about that...trying to figure what is going on and thought I had found a likely culprit (but was obviously wrong). Why do you think some banking apps would complain on your GSI but not on others (tried derpfest or PixelOS and everything is fine)? Can it be because of the hardcoded GMS spoof? I am interested in understanding what's going on because your GSI is by far the best but not being able to use banking apps is of course a big problem for me. I am not rooted or anything like that, this happens on a fresh install. Thanks for the help!

You need to check what's going on with your setup because everything is working great here with PIA...
Even Google Wallet is working!
