Info

  • Device: Tecno Pova 3 (LF7)
  • GSI version: aosp-arm64-ab-gapps-14.0-20240509
  • Vendor version: TECNO/LF7-GL/TECNO-LF7:12/SP1A.210812.016/230216V967

Expected Behavior

The brightness should be similar to Stock, or at least not make vision difficult in bright environments.

The "Force alternative backlight scale" option should work without problems, or at least the slider should work by raising and lowering the brightness.

Current Behavior

The maximum brightness is what would be 50% on Stock firmware.

The "Force alternative backlight scale" does not work. Lower the brightness even more and the Slider does not work correctly when activated.

Possible Solution

No response

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Install the GSI using SDK Platforms tools
  2. Check the brightness intensity
  3. You will see low brightness issue and "Force alternative backlight scale" option is not working properly

Logs

No response

Additional context

The maximum brightness is simply not adequate, it is low and does not look good in illuminated environments, no Backlight option in Phh Treble Settings works for me to solve this.

A similar fix of this PR may work for your device (tecno/lf7-gl). Are you able to confirm this?

Hello!, I couldn't mount the /system partition to be able to overwrite the rw-system.sh file since I don't have TWRP, and in the RO2RW process in Termux my device completely froze to the point that I had to force restart...

But I tried a magisk module that fixed this problem on the Redmi Note 10 (Camellia) models and now I have the brightness at its native levels, it could work for other people who have the same problem in the future.

brightnessfix.zip
@T0UB3S try this module instead, it sets the same prop

@ryenyuku Hello, I tried to install the module but this happens:

-Copying zip to temp directory
-Unzip error

brightnessfix.zip
Try this, I zipped it using the "zip" util instead. I think Magisk doesn't like FX's (file explorer) way to compress zip but it worked fine in KSU.

any news @T0UB3S ?

@ponces The problem is solved, thanks to the module that @ryenyuku shared

Great! I'll add your device to the PR I mentioned!
