Issue/Bug Description:
After fresh install of PopOS 19.10 QT apps are very slow to open, taking from 30 seconds to a minute. On an upgrade from 19.04 with the apps already installed to 19.10 this is not present
Steps to reproduce (if you know):
Just click on a qt app in the application drawer and wait.
Expected behavior:
Apps should open upon being click on straight away.
Other Notes:
It happened to me as well
When theming via QT_QPA_PLATFORMTHEME=gtk2 or qt5ct, I get this same problem on Ubuntu 19.10 + child distros. Very annoying. There's a discussion here.
Same here. Using qt5ct at QT_QPA_PLATFORMTHEME.
Ubuntu 19.10 and Pop_OS 19.10 users are out of luck with the gtk2 approach, unless you upgrade from 19.04. You can use Kvantum or Adwaita-qt to get around this on a fresh install.
