Faceplate / Panel?

Opened this issue · 7 comments

This design looks really good but may I ask if you have ever made a faceplate/panel for it?
Thanks
Florent

Hi Florent

Thanks for the feedback.
For this I have not prepared a faceplate, as I am not 100% satisfied with the layout yet (see issues and errata). When I am I may choose to make a faceplate.

Furthermore I have started to migrate towards a more standardized panel based on :
CV Util

This is an 8HE panel module (like the Filter and Wavefolder) - it has 2x2 adjustments in the top - then 2x2 inputs and 2x2 outputs in the bottom. I may adjust the board to fit this layout when I return to this panel.

I've made a preliminary faceplate that can be seen here:
https://github.com/promesoft/KicadJE_MoogVCF/blob/master/README.md

Gerbers are not prepared for this - but that would be a little thing to do afterwards

Many thanks for your reactivity. But actually I was more interested by the Wavefolder :) But I should learn KiCAD and make it instead of annoying everybody ;)

:) - The wavefolder works as is - so it would make more sense at the moment.

And yes - I'd recommend Kicad - its not so hard if you know a bit abt electronics to start with.
If you stick to analogue synth design its not that hard - they are low voltage - low current - not very noise sensitive - not very EMC radiating - so you can do a lot with simple skills.

I have prepared a new faceplate that matches the eurorack template and the holes for the wavefolder (check out the update on the readme.md.

as for making gerber files its quite simple - just press plot and select these settings for JLC (they have a guide for it online)

then generate plot, map and drill files, zip them and upload them to JLC.
Inspect that the PCB looks the same as in Kicad and order....pretty easy.

Let me know if you need help

It looks great, MANY THANKS!
