Richard wrote great stuff. We don't use it anymore.

I would be in favour of outright deletion. All of it still will still exist in version control and if we ever need it in the future it can be checked out from there.

I'm OK with that, too. Generally, I dislike those "attic"
directories, but since I'm the newcomer, I didn't want to to anything
drastic. I'll leave it up to you and John.

Don't hesitate to be as drastic as you desire (short of rewriting history). That's why version control exists.
