I'm started looking into this.

When looking at the sonatype repo I saw that there's a few error messages like this for the staging repository:

Artifact updating: Repository ='releases:Releases' does not allow updating artifact='/com/pulumi/awsx/0.0.1/awsx-0.0.1.pom'

I think this has to do with the recent changes to embed the SDK version: c94dc01
