This is a valuable discussion about lint config semver: stylelint/stylelint-config-standard#86 (comment).

Ultimate point:

For a config however, every addition is very likely to break someone's build and I suggest we stick to our current policy of a major release for any removal, change or addition.

So stylelint-config-standard is on v18. Ours has gone though a lot of change before getting to v1, but once we call it 1.0.0, that seems like a good policy.
