add email reminders for events

Just like we do with twitter, we could send email reminders of events. We don't need to send them to each individual if we set up a mailing list (google group?).

Im thinking about this item.
Meetup.com already sends reminders. I don't see us completely moving away from that in the next year.
Alternative idea is to send a sort of newsletter-ish summary with upcoming events.
We have emailing capabilities with the web host, so we dont need to hook into any other service.
Also, @HasturDev is working on adding emailing functionality as well. Let's see if he chimes in
