404 on REST API on adding default language prefix to url

I use a Woocommerce payment gateway named Payplug (https://wordpress.org/plugins/payplug/). In backend this plugin call a REST API url https://beta.sestogrado.it/it/?rest_route=/payplug_api/init that give a 404 error.
'it' is the default language and the language that I set in the front-end.
When I set hide_default_language on, there is no 404 error and all works fine.
I think this problem can also occur with other plugins that use REST API.
There is a solution to add an exception to this REST API redirection?
Many thanks
