[Bug]: clicking menubar icon shows no menu, but captures keyboard input in Sonoma

Bug description

When clicking the QS menubar icon (Sonoma, M1/ARM), I no longer see the popup menu. However, the keyboard input has now been captured by QS, so any keypresses result in a Mac OS "bell" warning, and no text appearing. The only way I've found to exit this is to hold cmd Q to quit QS. It's also possible to cmd , into the QS settings.

It can be resolved by unchecking: Include access to all menu items from menu bar, and restarting QS.

This happens for me on two different M1 macs, both running Sonoma.

Steps to reproduce

  1. Start QS with Show icon in menu bar and Include access to all menu items from menu bar both checked
  2. click the menubar icon (left or right click)
  3. (Note the absence of a popup menu on click)
  4. try using the keyboard

Expected behavior

  • Popup menu (About Quicksilver; Donate...; Guide...; etc.) should appear on clicking the menubar icon
  • Keyboard should then still be usable when entering text in applications other than QS
