Pinned Tabs are being removed

I have the setting "do not discard pinned tabs". I can't tell if they actually get marked as discarded, but I also have the "Permanently delete (remove) old discarded tabs if they are inactive for" setting, and unused pinned tabs are being deleted.
Is there a log I can review?
