In the GMT, it is possible to drag "abstract" node types onto the canvas, and connect them to other nodes - e.g. a "radon.nodes.abstract.Service" can "depend on" a "radon.nodes.abstract.CloudPlatform" (see attached png). Can such 'abstract' node types be instantiated or deployed? What is the meaning of an abstract node type when it appears in a RADON/GMT model?

An abstract node template is a node template that doesn't define any implementations for the TOSCA lifecycle management operations. So you won't be able to deploy such nodes.
