Current state
When Properties are selected in the top menu and the Properties button is pressed in the node template, the drop-down overlaps with other elements. Tested in Mozilla Firefox and Chrome browsers.
Desired state
Properties are displayed over other elements and visible to a user.

I'll track it in our main repo for higher visibility. However, as a workaround I would strongly recommend to use the side panel to adapt your props:
