vscode there is no data provider registered that can provide view data after I installed the TMC extension

Started from part 4, it requires us to install the TMC plugin to continue with the work. It works perfectly fine for my personal computer, but for my Macbook, I installed it does not work. After clicking that TMC icon, the TESTMYCODE: MENU shows "There is no data provider registerd that can provide view data." I cannot find any fix on the internet, please help!
