Is there a way to prevent page breaks?

I want to create a document where specific text parts need to be on the same page and I'd like to avoid workarounds where I'd have to calculate where a page break would be and then insert empty lines. I haven't been able to insert pagebreaks either, char (12) or \f only cause an error.
