screensaver not working with X server backend

Opened this issue · 0 comments

After I have installed bookworm, I found that some important menu configuration didn't work properly.
Notably, adding panel or start menu entries and keyboard shortcuts for one-click shutdown/reboot .
Thus, I switched back to the X server backend in raspi-config -> advanced.
Alas, with this backend, the screen saver option becomes unavailable.
I don't use a lock screen, but I don't want to waste energy unnecessarily.
For that, I want to blank my screen whenever I leave my desk.
If I know that I don't need the screen for a while, a simple keyboard shortcut is the quickest and easiest way to instantly save energy.
Is there a way to quickly blank the screen and to enable a screen saver with the Xserver backend in bookworm?
