It is very hard to find information about this version anywhere online. It is possible to mod an existing sc500/sc1000/sc1000mk2 to have a screen?
I'm especially interested in the idea of having some sort of visual feedback, as seen in this instagram video:

Even if it were a ring of LEDs around the platter instead of a screen, or maybe even a motorized platter? What are the limits of what is possible with this device, especially if/when it becomes a class compliant midi controller itself? The arcade button for play/pause and the encoder for track select really round out the controls.
My dream device would be sc500 sized, class compliant midi controller mode, LED light ring around jogwheel. I love having all those extra buttons on the top of the sc500, having access to them in midi controller mode would allow you to have all sorts of hotcues, play/pause, cue, shift, sync etc. mapped in your software of choice.
