SDM 630 does not answer

I hope this is the right forum -- saw this is Tasmota source code

  1. SDM 630 v2 modbus FW 13.02/2019
  2. Connected to PC->USB->RS485 -> (SDM) -> RS485 monitor (Rx only)-> back to PC using IFFT
  3. Sending either
  (readv) 01 04 00 00 00 02 71 CB
  (diag)  01 08 00 00 aa  55 5e 94

  1. Oscilloscope is connected to the 485 bus and I see valid RS 485 differential signals

  2. I see valid RS485 with the monitor on the same bus

  3. Tested it with 2400/1/NP, 9600/1/NP, 38400/1/NP

  4. 120 ohm terminator is attached

Is there a hidden command that configure SDM enable this mode?
both TTL:485 converters work fine with PC but not with SDM
Am I missing somthing?

It seems as a faulty SDM630. tested another device and it works fine.
