Check character encoding during input

The current version breaks with some unicode characters. A shortcut is to add an option to automatically unidecode texts during input.
-- allow for unidecode of strings as option
-- if option is not set, when text is loaded, throw a warning if not UTF-8
-- ask andrea to check it after.
