[Feature Request] Mastodon-compatible social link for verification

According to the official Mastodon docs, you can verify a given website link is yours by adding the rel="me" flag to a link directly back to your Mastodon profile. I feel that this should be either the default or a toggleable option, since it seems rather straightforward to implement and would be a pretty nice thing to work out-of-the-box.
