Not Generating Basic Card Types

Describe the bug
I have reinstalled the plugin following a hiatus. I am now unable to generate basic card types (ie using the #card tag) but am still able to generate cloze deletion cards using using == formatting.
The plugin will add the front matter to a new card but not generate any basic flashcards. No error is displayed it just reports "Nothing to do".
