bug: needs restart to update friends list

Closed this issue · 4 comments

What happened?

When I accept a friend request, the accept button appears as if it does nothing when clicking on it. But if I restart the client after that, the new friend then appears to be added to my friends list

3 weeks with no answer to this other than a vague acknowledgement that it is happening... Can confirm this is still an issue on the main download here. Since Discord is getting worse and worse (now 8mb is seemingly the upload limit again unless you pay!), my boyfriend and I were looking for an alternative and we nearly dismissed Revolt as being dead because both the accept and cancel request buttons appeared to do nothing for either of us (among other issues with the client not updating properly until restart)...
Don't mean to be a bother because I get how monumental a task a project like this is, but this should probably be addressed sooner rather than later, I'd think? ;u;

The project is lacking help, donation, time and users.
I have done donation, I like it, but none care they prefer using Discord the spyware.
About it you should use vancord or betterdiscord what do you risk ?
Ban ?

It's not that we don't see these issues, it's just that we're already strained as-is for development time and picking up these issues takes a moment.

For context, I'm personally not home, haven't been for 2 weeks, and still won't be for another 2 weeks, so in my case I only have brief moments which I'm currently allocating to restructuring Revolt to allow our team to function better. The other active developers are also currently focused on working on mobile apps, etc as opposed to the web client or otherwise are unfamiliar with that project. Though at the end of the day, we do basically all work on volunteer basis.

Now I did actually think I fixed this issue, so I'm not sure what happened here, I'll chuck this on my to-do list based on the fact that it should've been fixed already.
