By looking at the open issues it seems like all of them are "taken" even though not all are assigned.

If I'm not mistaken in that sense we need more issues so that I can work on something! I'm currently out of ideas myself of what to do... Maybe try to create the join-pattern-OMG? ;)

You can look at creating a release pipeline/process. Maybe set up a release branch in git, and have travis push to pypi automatically when a build passes on it? Not sexy but we need to do it at some point.

I'm going to take a look at more clear benchmarking somehow, comparing the different implementations and runtimes, and see if there's a way to hook those up somewhere (or maybe update a github page).
