MANUAL: Audio Receive- Process -add to Manual

Closed this issue · 2 comments

There are several places to put in preferences in the plug in and I do not know what to enter in those fields. I will test again when we have good signal later in the day, but any help with all the parameters needed to control the input and image would be appreciated.
WxFax-Pref

In Windows 11 with Opencpn 5.10.2 using Weatherfax 1.10.4

  1. Open Weatherfax_pi and Preferences2. Ca
  2. Capture: Audio
  3. Sample rate: 8000
  4. Device Index: 0
  5. Reduce to 2 or 4 colors
  6. OK

1 Preferences

  1. Find a weatherfax sound file (wav, mp3 or mp4) to use as a test.

  2. Download an MP3, MP4 or wav file and start playing it. The one below is not very clear, and we need a better one for testing.
    2 Play-Sound-File

  3. In weatherfax_pi and click on Retrieve > Capture to go to the Decoder screen. Try to get it going before the "Phasing" section completes.

3 Decoding

  1. Wait while the Player runs the sound file and completes, while it is decoded by Weatherfax_pi in the decoder screen.
  2. Wait until the full fax is captured then hit Stop.

4 Coordinates-Wizard

  1. Move from the Decoder screen to the Coordinates Wizard scren by hitting Next.
  2. Under "Image Coordinates" dropdown select "New Coord" and then select top left and bottom right coordinates and enter Lat and Long.
  3. Hit Next after the coordinates and lat long are set.
  4. The decoded fax is saved as "Audio Capture" and should appear on the chart.

I need a better sound file I think.

Some of this should go into the Plugin Manual.
