Alignwide doesn't work in posts

I can't get alignwide to work on posts. With an image-block for example. In the editor it seems to work, but on the frontend the image is default width. Furthermore, this problem does not occur on pages.

Full disclosure: WordPress 5.9.1 without the Gutenberg plugin activated.
