Problems adding shield with RecalculateStatsAPI when the character has Transcendence/Shared Design

Items that give shield using RecalculateStatsAPI appear to use the maxHealth value of 1 with these items.
Additionally, when having them, picking up a shield item will seemingly give a correct amount of health, only to revert to being wrong upon sprinting.
