Static Text on MAX7219 4 x 8 x 8 x Matrix

Hi This is not a problem, just a question. I've hope this forum is an acceptable place to ask a question.

I have used a 7-Segment LED Display Module in the past, but am now trying to use a 4 x 8 x 8 matrix. Is their a command to make the text static / just appear, and scroll if it needs to, or just appear assuming it will fit on the display.

I've found the command to control the scrolling speed.

Python 2.7
