lecture PDFs aren't searchable / quotable

The typeface in 1_conflict.pdf and 2_cooperation.pdf appears to be unrecognized by default PDF viewers in Ubuntu and MacOS, so I can't select chunks of text to copy/paste, nor search for words within the documents.
