hello, my samsung TV bought less than 1 year ago is not working with this custom, the model is UE49MU7000.
I think it will be worth to add a compatibility list specially if this component does not support all Samsung Smart TVs at it seems to be due to my experience

Probably would be great if added not only compatibility, but dropdown list, where you choose owned model, so that also port configuration would be set etc.. based on choosen model.

Hi, I have uploaded the latest version 2.0. Try changing the protocol to "ws" for 2016+ TVs model! (maybe all tizen family)...

no change, I updated the component, setup protocol to "ws" and tried either 8001 or 8002 port and my TV is not detected at all... :(

Same problem here, WS and or CTL has no impact on discovering my TV..

Me too on my 75Q7 from 2018.

It only works for turning on the TV.

Update to version 3.0.0 and try the new protocols:
-ws (fixed from @xchwarze)
-ctl_beta
-ctl_qled

went to 3.0.2 (latest avail) and still my TV does not work:

  • ws (nothign happens, media player is empty and does nothing)
  • ctl (nothign happens, media player is empty and does nothing)
  • ctl_beta (nothign happens, media player is populated with all field but nothing works, neither the on/off status)
  • ctl_qled (nothign happens, media player is empty and when I click on any control on it I've an error "turnon service does not respond))

I tried all above on both ports 8001 and 8002

I'm starting to believe my Samsung TV is one of a kind with a complete different protocol than all the other ones :(

I can see some improvements in the 3.0.2. Now my tv state is recognized, i can use the volume buttons and i can also turn off the Qled TV. Unfortunately the sources buttons and the turn on action won't work. Tested with "ws" and "ctl_qled" protocol (with ctl_qled, the source are not visibles).

I wrote the model number in the initial issue request, anyhow it's UE49MU7000

Can't connect to Samsung / UE32M5690.
Ports 800x not available.
