I can see that future has already been dropped in this pull request #234

But can we also release this now to resolve security scan failures from this project? Thanks!

The last commit was committed on Sep 3, 2022, which resolved this issue. Since then, there has been no activity. The last time @rubik committed was over a year ago. This does not look good…

Personally, I have fully moved to ruff, as it does offer some (but not all) of the metrics I want.
