Why detect Text?

Is it possible to use the symbol(emoji?) before "promoted" text to detect ads? (they seems to using same pic in different lang)
And is it possible to apply to "What’s happening" Tab?

thanks for the suggestion, i believe you're referring to the "up and to the right" arrow SVG? i'll investigate and respond here.

@laiyanyi i hacked this together quickly but it seems to work well, and i also extended it to both "what's happening" promoted topics as well as "who to follow" promoted accounts.

here's a demo that shows a promoted topic + follow being removed once i begin scrolling my feed:

next steps

  • before rolling this out to 5,000+ users i'd appreciate some beta testing
  • are you comfortable setting up the extension + pointing it to this branch, locally on your computer?
