Feature request: Progressive Web Apps (PWA) / webapp manifests

SailfishOS (4.4.0.64) Browser doesn't currently support progressive web apps and instead creates shortcuts that just open the web browser.
On client side they are supported by Chromiums, Firefox Android and Safari iOS (without push notifications).
On server/provider side, I think there is an constantly growing selection including social media services, Mobilizon, hydrogen.element.io Matrix client, loalty club cards, travel guides, menus etc. and I think they could be an important step in having common applications without the Android support especially with push notifications supported.
I have been hoping for this for quite some time; while native apps are generally better, there are a lot of services people love or rely on which are available as webapps and this would close the app gap considerably.
