Custom Pinnification of local files

I definitely prefer PINN over BerryBoot due to its stability(reliability). However when it comes adding custom OSes, its very inflexible. I see several latest OSes(examples below) have been optimized for performance, and usability. However PINN does not support them OOTB.

  • fedora 34
  • manjaro ARM 21.06 ( Gnome 40)
  • FydeOS v12
  • elementary 5 (6 coming soon)

I explored quite a lot on how to add a OS of your choice, however found not much, except this project. However with this project, I wonder if I can download the xz image and provide local image file. I am not sure, if the Pinnify script (shell) would be able to successfully complete for above examples. This script needs to be modified to allow local image files, so that you download the image(xz) file, run this script and get the partition layout related files created. when you boot PINN next time, it picks the files from the PEN drive (or wherever you kept them)
