Is there a way to invoke the tell Slack script such that it does not bring slack to the front?

Sadly not. As this isn't a supported library within the Slack app, I'm getting around this via user interface controls which require the app to be in the foreground

Yeh, I realized it when I was poking around at the code later on. Fun scripts though. :-)
