Is it possible to do this project with a bus pirate instead of a goodfet? It seems the goodfet is discontinued (I have scoured the Internet and not been able to find one for sale anywhere). I have been trying to figure out if the Bus Pirate is maybe too slow (max SPI Bus Speed is 1MHz and I see some blog posts talking about the im-me SPI Bus for display running at 2.5Mhz).
There is the GreatFet now, but travis says his goodfet-cc library is not compatible.
Sorry for such a stupid question I am new to hardware hacking. If i can get it working I was hoping to expand the project to support other types of garage doors, including wireless keypads.
