VM stuck at blank screen

Describe the bug
When I start the VM, only a blank, short and wide window appears (see screenshot below) and the VM doesn't POST (no beep or display).

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Installed the VM using an ISO of the original Hungarian Windows 98 SE OEM disc
  2. Installed some games
  3. Shut down the VM & exited PCem
  4. Moved it to C:\Program Files\PCem V17
  5. Changed permissions to have full access to it without admin
  6. Created a second HDD, copied game installers on it to not have to swap CDs
  7. VM doesn't start up anymore

Expected behavior
Normal behavior

Host machine

  • OS: Windows 11 Home 23H2 (build 22631.3296)
  • Emulator version: V17

Additional context
I tried to solve the issue by following the recommendations found here, but it didn't work. Changing machine type to Shuttle HOT-557 worked, but it doesn't recognize the CD-ROM drive.
