Use colour console messages only in an interactive shell

Please can the CLI only produce the nicely coloured output when it detects the process is running in an interactive shell?

For a batch shell, the logged console output from the CLI is a lot harder to read.

This issue may be particular to VERBOSE output.

Please let me know what kind of shell are you using.
And, are the tables (e.g. test coverage) displayed correctly in your shell?
