Unclickable menu bar and key binding dialog won't open

Adding two issues into one here because they might be related.

Setup:

  • Windows 10 21H2
  • Intel Xe GPU
  • ImageJ 1.53t with Java 1.8.0_322 (64bit)
  • SciView: latest available release from the buttercup link (installed according to the instructions in the sciview docs)
  1. The key bindings dialog won't open. The Fiji status bar shows "running command: key bindings", but the dialog never opens. This happens regardless of whether a demo scene is opened or not. There are no entries in the log or the console (not with debug mode enabled either). The other menu options (SciView, Controls) will open just fine.
  2. Once I click and close the Help>About or the About update site dialogs, all of the SciView top bar menu items will become unresponsive until I either restart the plugin or minimize/maximize the SciView window.
  3. Oh and the "about update site" dialog still tells me the plugin is running on the ageratum version, although the update server is clearly on the buttercup version.

1 is likely an example of #494
2 I cannot confirm (but testing on Apple)
3 comes from the update site repo and this will be changed when @ctrueden revamps the update sites

I think we can close this issue if we get a second set of testing on 2.
