Syri doesn't deal with unequal chromosome comparison

Closed this issue · 2 comments

Syri gets aborted when running inputs containing unequal number of chromosomes. The issue was reported Issue #6 but does not seem to have a clearer way to deal with it.

Any suggestion please,

I would also appreciate some resolution here. I am working with two scaffold-level assemblies that are in the same genus but have a different number of chromosomes (it looks like chromosomal rearrangement may have led to this), so the creation of pseudochromosomes as suggested in Issue #6 isn't a viable option. Thank you in advance.

We are currently developing methods that would allow comparison of organisms with different number of chromosomes. For now the available workarounds are suggested here

Or you can also try to manually generate matching 'ancestral chromosomes' like here
