GNOME 3.22 will be available by 12 October, if the plugin doesn't need any tweaking for compatibility, it'll be enough to update metadata.json, bump the version and release it.

I haven't been able to test this because GNOME won't run on my laptop currently, but if it works for someone else, please mention it here so we can release it.
