I got inspired by this library, but needed to get universal (iPod, iPhone, iPad and Simulator) device names, so I ended up creating my own library (highly inspired by SDiPhoneVersion):

DDVersion

It's essentially even simpler than SDiPhoneVersion, as it has a slightly different goal: to simply report the human readable device name (for analytical purposes).

Just thought I would throw this out there, as the word "iPhone" in "SDiPhoneVersion" sounds like it'll stay iPhone-only. :)
