A database backend that promises to leave the actual database structure intact, metadata for its internal use is seperated.

for tutorials, seems very promising as a nice little self-hosted database for all sorts of personal things.
Needs back-end supplied by the user, although it does let you use it with sqlite out of the box I think. Most will probably want to hook this up to their mariadb/mysql/etc...
