Restoring deleted catagories and associate intances?

If a category is accidentally deleted, can we restore it with all the instances/items associated with the category? I.e. "Buffer" category has associated instance "210915_NewBuffer", if the "Buffer" category is deleted can PEGR keep a memory of the associated instances so we can restore the category with all the associated instances? Rather than recreate the category and reattached at the instances that had been associated with that category?
